Current Night Time Skincare Routine

Hi beautiful! Christy here,

I wasn’t always big on skincare, I used to be lucky to have naturally clear skin most of the time except for the occasional pimple. This however, changed recently. I had a sudden breakout a few weeks ago and since then it just hasn’t gone down so I have been trying different skincare items to try and clear up my skin. In this post I will show you guys the products I am currently using at night (if I am bothered, sometimes I skip steps here and there).

1. Garnier Micelar Cleansing Water $12.99 AUD

This is an optional step which I only do when I am wearing extreme amounts of makeup and/or waterproof mascara. I usually do this step before I get into the shower along side a cotton pad. I love this product because it is so affordable and really gets the job done without irritating the skin.

2. Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash $16.95

Washing my face is the step which I never ever leave out of my skincare routine. If I was to do one step out of all of these, it would be washing my face. I find that facial washes don’t really vary between brands, I mean after all it is washed off in a matter of seconds. This Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash claims to “help prevent blemishes” however I haven’t seen much of a difference and I have been using this product for a few weeks. I probably won’t repurchase this as I am on the hunt for revolutionary skincare products but I will use the remainder of the product.

3. Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner $16.95

I did mention that I wasn’t that big on skincare in the past, and toning my skin was something which I left out of my skincare routine. To be honest, I didn’t exactly know what it did and why it was important. I have only recently begun using a toner in the past few weeks so I’m not too sure if it really is doing its job, although, the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner does an amazing job of giving the skin a really fresh and clean feeling while removing any remaining make-up or dirt which was left behind if I didn’t use the Micellar Water.

4. Proactiv Complexion Perfecting Hydrator $60

I always try to moisturize after I use a toner/wash my face as I know these steps strip the skin of its natural oils and moisture. The one that I am currently using I received in a subscription box. At the moment it has been doing a decent job, however I am on the look out for a moisturiser which is more targeted to reducing breakouts.

Optional Extras:

Mario Badescu Facial Spray

I usually spray this right before I go to bed (if I remember) so I feel fresh. It also creates a lovely atmosphere before snoozing with its rose scent.

Indio Glow Serum

Not too sure where I got this product from, but I occasionally use this when I’m having a really bad skin day and I need a bit of a boost.

Formula 10.0.6 Keep Your Cool Calming Breakout Mask

Whenever I have a bad, painful breakout I reach for this mask which really does cool the face and instantly reduces redness. I love that it is a really thin consistency so you hardly can even tell that it is on.

Hope you guys are having a lovely start to the week. But that’s all I have for now! Until next time, let me know what your current must have skincare item is so I can test some of them out.

Christy xoxo
