Hello everybody 🙂 It’s Grace.
I hope you are having a lovely and amazing day. Today I’m going to be giving you my thoughts and opinion on the Maybelline The Nudes Palette. This palette has recently come to Australia and I was very excited to see this new nude palette on sale at Priceline with Christy and I just had to try this out for you guys.
This palette, with 12 very unique, has a selection of brown, light, dark and glittery shades, which I find very appropriate for the transition from day to night. What really drew me to this palette is that it’s a staple, a nude palette, one every makeup lover should have. I think colourful and eccentric eye shadow shades and palettes are really fun to play with but at the end of the day very nude and neutral shades are the basis for so many looks.
This palette is packaged in a black rectangular case with no mirror, which for me was a bit of a disappointment as I find mirrors in palettes very very useful. Other than that, the packaging and design is pretty simplistic but quite nice considering it is a cheaper “drugstore” product. The shadows themselves are not over buttery or creamy but are just fine to be able to work. There is a selection of both matte and shimmery shades but I found that the shimmery ones were much more pigmented than the matte ones.
Here are some photos of the palette and some swatches I’ve done. I haven’t written down what shades I swatched where as there is no set names for each shade.
Overall, I find this palette average. The shadows are not easy to work with but can after a while achieve a very nice result. If you are looking for a cheaper nude palette for everyday, I would get this, but keep in mind that they price you pay sometimes does determine to quality of the shadows.
Thanks for reading and feel free to comment anything 🙂
