Hello beautiful! Christy here,
As I was looking through my make-up collection for a bit of inspiration on what to post today, I noticed that I really needed to clear out my mascara collection as well as get some new ones! So before I did that, I decided that I would write up this post for y’all and give some mini reviews on the mascaras that I have been using in the recent months!
So to begin with, these are in no particular order and I pretty much organised by shape/colour for my own amusement. First up on the top left is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($33AUD), this mascara is a cult favourite for many women out there so I obviously had really high hopes for it. But unfortunately, I was a bit let down. I know that a lot of people love it, but for me, it just smudged all over the place whenever I wore it. Below that is the Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara – Max Black ($25) which is quite new to me and hasn’t got much usage yet, I quite often overlook it due to its simple black packaging compared to my other bright coloured mascaras. Next is the Jordana Best Lash Extreme Mascara ($12AUD) – I was pretty impressed by the wand on this mascara but again I found it smudging on me and I did notice a bit of fallout.
I am kind of a skinny brush mascara lover and I’m not into the big brushes since my eyelashes are really short. The Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara ($17AUD) is one of my favourites because it is so precise and gets right up to the lash line. I haven’t really used the L’oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Excess Mascara ($28AUD) in a while since it has dried up majorly, so this is definitely one which will take a visit to my bin. I think this one has to be my least favourite out of them all, I just really dislike the wand, once again because it is so big, I honestly question why I bought it to begin with – Rimmel Scandal Eyes Rockin’ Curves Mascara ($17AUD)
The Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Mascara Soin Extenseur is another mascara I just haven’t been reaching for that often. To be honest I’m not sure if it is a mascara, or the type of product that is meant to help the growth of your lashes, because whenever I give it another shot, I end up with barely any product on my lashes. I couldn’t find a link for this one, sorry. The packaging on the Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara by Fabulash ($22AUD) gives me so much pleasure. It is my absolute favourite colour, the only reason why I bought it. Not too keen on this one either, just wasn’t my cup of tea. The Rimmel Wake Me Up Mascara ($18AUD) which has a cucumber scent (love!) is a pretty good mascara but AGAIN, the wand isn’t really my thing. Note to self: buy more mascaras which have the wand you like!
Finally, a mascara I can say that I actually like! The Maybelline Volum’ Express Falsies Big Eyes Washable ($20AUD) has a really great wand and I find this formula really works with my eyelashes. I also love how it has the smaller end in the wand which is great for getting into the lower lash line and those pesky little eye lashes in the inner corner. Another mascara I gravitate towards is the L’oreal Paris False Lash Butterfly Wings Mascara ($26AUD) which is really amazing at separating the lashes! Now my absolute favourite mascara of all time is the Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes! Waterproof Mascara ($27AUD). This mascara does everything I could ever want a mascara to do, it holds a curl, lengthens, separates and stays put all day no matter what! This mascara has really changed the way I look at mascaras, it is that phenomenal.
And to top it all off I thought I would include my current eyelash curler because I mean c’mon, it is just too pretty. Metallic aqua eyelash curler with diamontees on it? How could I resist. This curler is from Revlon and I bought it at Priceline. I couldn’t find the exact one on the website but here is the plain black version.
So I guess that is it for my mascara collection! Currently sitting at 12 mascaras, minus a few which will need to be replaced with the new and improved. I really want to try more tarte mascaras since I love the one I currently have to bits. Please let me know what your holy grail mascara is so I can go try it out!
Until next time, I hope you all have an awesome week.
