5 Bold Lipstick Colours for Autumn/Winter

Hey, beautiful! Christy here,

Down here in Australia the weather has begun its annual descent into Winter 🙁 I’m personally not the biggest fan of the colder weather, but the way I try to make it a bit more bearable is by picturing the bold makeup looks I’ll be more inclined to pull off during this season. Of course, the lipstick colours I’ll be listing can be worn during any time of the year, but these are just a few which I think are extremely Autumn/Winter appropriate. Please keep in mind, that these colours are not for the faint-hearted.

1. Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips – StingRAYE – $6USD – (approx $8 AUD)
This colour is described as a cool toned mauve brown on the website but to me, it seems like it has more of a purple-grey undertone. This is definitely my favourite out of the bunch and in my opinion is the most wearable. I LOVE the formula of this one especially because the formula is so smooth.

2. Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream – Buda-pash – ($10.49 AUD)
Instead of going for a typical red lipstick, this is what I have been reaching for. It’s a deep kind warm-toned red with a hint of brown. The formula on these Velourlips are extremely budge proof  with that being said, keep in mind that they are difficult to take off without a makeup wipe.

3.  Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit – Kourt K – $29USD – (approx $40 AUD)
This colour is EXTREMELY bold, it’s the darkest lip colour I own. It’s a dark dark purple liquid lipstick which comes along with a lip liner (must be used to achieve a precise line). Whenever I use this I definitely make sure to use a bit of concealer to sharpen up the edges, a must-do whenever using a dark colour like this one.

4. Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick – One-of-a-kind – ($15.95 AUD)
This one’s a bit more of a classic deep wine red for the more day time appropriate looks.  Great formula and will probably look great on a variety of skin tones.

5. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Wild Orchid 457 – ($17-23 AUD)
This isn’t a typical autumn/winter lipstick shade but I thought I would throw it in for those who aren’t into the darker colours but still want to wear a statement lip colour. I really love wearing this lipstick on top of other shades because it has a sort of blue reflective sheen to it which I love. Today I wore it on top of Kourt K while I was swatching these lipsticks and I’ve found my ultimate favourite lip combo for Winter.

So those are a few recommendations of Autumn/Winter lip colours for you guys to bring out and start wearing as we head into the colder months!

Let me know if you have a favourite lipstick that you usually tend to wear during Autumn/Winter

Christy xoxo
