Thursday October 5th was the opening night of the Sydney Night Noodle Market came back to Hyde Park – so of course Christy and I had to stop by and feast. If you don’t know what the Night Noodle Market is, it is basically a bunch of Asian food stalls added with desert and drinks. The night was highlighted with dragon dancers that made their way through Hyde Park.
First was Cloud Thief (formally known as Bao Stop). At this stall we both had the Old School Trifecta which had braised pork belly, fried chicken and pecking duck bao. This was a great one to start the night with. My favourite one out of the three was definitely the pecking duck purely because of the sauce.
After seeing a couple of people walking around with peking duck fries, Christy and I thought it looked too good not to try. So we tried it, and oh my god – it was toooooo good. With the fries came shredded duck and the pecking duck sauce (this was probably why I loved it so much!).
And of course we couldn’t leave without having desert from Gelato Messina. I had the ‘I Think I’m Turning Sesame’. Inside was black sesame gelato, condensed milk coffee jelly, miso crunch, banana miso bread, vanilla cream and coffee powder. This was probably the most filling desert I’ve ever had in my life, the coffee jelly and banana miso bread really topped the desert for me.
I need to go back – there was just so much that I didn’t get to try because I was so full. Next time I must go to Twistto and get the twist potato on a stick and for desert I am 100% going to Waffland.
